We are so excited to kick off the new 2023-2024 school year! Please see the attached PTO Back-to-School flyer for an overview of what our PTO supports, where to get information, and important dates for the year.
Learning Festival, on May 12, 2023, is University Elementary’s annual celebration of all things Learning! Classrooms showcase their best work of the year, and our PTO stages activities, games, food, and a silent auction for the school community to celebrate.
As our largest event fundraiser of the year, the money raised from the event goes directly back to the school and supports PTO programs such as literacy aids, teacher project grants, classroom supplies, teacher trainings, student needs, STEM materials, and more.
Sponsorships are incredibly important to our event as they offset event costs so all dollars raised can go back to the school. Sponsors receive:
- Social media callouts
- Mentions in email blasts from the school
- Logo featured on our online event page
- Logo on event print materials
Sponsorships start at $100 and typically range from $100-500, but we ask businesses to give whatever they are comfortable giving. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your sponsorship is tax deductible.

Let’s come together, share a meal from our heritage, and celebrate our global UES community.
- Bring an item to display on our “Global Museum” table.
- Students can participate in the Show, Tell & Talent Show – share a talent, sing a song, do a dance, model traditional clothing, teach us to say a word in a different language, etc.
- Donate to our Charity Raffle for a chance to win a book placed in the UES library in your honor and a treat from a local bakery. All funds will be donated to the Broadview Adult Learning Center to support the creation of an international library.
- Put a pin in our “Univees across the World” map that will be displayed on a bulletin board after the event.
- Sample the smells of spices from around the world.
Look for sign ups for food, volunteering, and the Show, Tell & Talent Show in the Monday Minute.

Your student will be bringing home a yellow Fall Campaign form if they haven’t already. We have a lot of fun with this community event and stress participation over dollar amounts. Every student who returns a form (regardless of donation) will receive a small prize. If 85% of a grade level participates by returning a form, the grade will receive a popcorn party! We’ll also be holding special prize drawings at lunch this month for students who have returned a form.
The annual Fall Campaign is the University Elementary School PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year. The funds are used to support our school, students, and teachers in many ways such as Kindergarten and First Grade Literacy Aides, classroom supplies, outdoor labs (for example: fitness trail, gardens, and shelter pavilion), grade-level grants, professional development funds for teacher workshops and courses, student needs, and special projects.
Please review the form, indicate whether or not you can participate this year, and return the form to your student’s teacher. All donations, regardless of amount, are important and appreciated. We look forward to your participation in this month-long event!

Join us this Friday 9/30 from 5:30-8:00 for the IB Trail Walk & Food Truck Night. Walk the trail around the UES grounds and browse the latest IB displays. Learn how the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is integrated into the UES curriculum. Food will be available for purchase from Kebab on Wheels, Short Stop BBQ Train, and Chocolate Moose or bring your own dinner. Bring a picnic blanket, folding chairs, lawn games, etc. The playground will be open as well for your kids to play!

Pre-bidding is open until Thursday at 10pm. All bids from the pre-bid event will carry over to the silent auction during Learning Festival at University Elementary, Friday May 13th from 6-8pm. The item will be won by the highest bidder at the end of the night!

The annual Fall Campaign is traditionally our biggest fundraising event. Rather than having our children participate in door-to-door sales, we have found most families prefer to make a direct financial contribution to the PTO. The money raised through the Fall Campaign pays for important programs and activities that are not covered through regular school budgets but that help make University Elementary an outstanding school.
Please consider a donation of $30 per student to help us reach our school goal of $16,000 for our 2021 Fall Campaign.

Members of University Elementary School’s (UES) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)created this parent guidebook to provide families with information about UES and the community. Information about the PTO, UES, Community Resources, and The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) are covered. The topics included in this guidebook were determined by a parent survey. More detailed information can be found in the UES Handbook.
